FOUNDER AND ARTISTIC DIRECTOR

Lauren Regan

Ms. Regan is proud to be celebrating five years of Greenwich A Cappella. Growing up in Fairfield, CT, Ms. Regan joined her first a cappella group in high school. She was hooked. At the University of Delaware, while her major was elementary education, she knew she had to join an a cappella group, and auditioned for Vocal Point. Singing, competing, and traveling with Vocal Point made her realize how much an a cappella group feels like a family. She is still close with her Vocal Point friends to this day. After graduating from college, Ms. Regan began her career as a special education teacher in Greenwich, CT. Wanting to pursue even more in this field, she attended graduate school in the evenings, and earned a Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Simmons University. She also started directing an a cappella group at her high school in Fairfield. Ms. Regan realized that her students in Greenwich didn’t have this opportunity and she felt called to create something new for them. She founded Greenwich A Cappella in 2020. Over the past five years, Ms. Regan has grown the program from eight singers to over 130 singers in grades K-12, and has built a strong teaching team of 7 directors. Outside of a cappella, Ms. Regan still teaches math intervention part-time at an elementary school in Greenwich. She loves spending time with her dog, Bailey, her friends and family (she is one of 5 siblings), and traveling as much as she can. Ms. Regan is always looking to build her a cappella education knowledge and has been lucky to learn from some industry-leading professionals, attending A Cappella Academy Grad School in Los Angeles (Ben Bram, Rob Dietz) and Next Level Direct in Boston (JD Frizzell, Jon Smith). She loves to create special experiences for her Greenwich A Cappella singers - opening for the Rockettes at Radio City Music Hall, filming countless music videos, traveling to the National A Cappella Convention in Florida, and many more. For Ms. Regan, the most rewarding part of it all is seeing her singers grow in confidence and build lasting friendships.
